1. Why did Parvana's family embrace Shauzia as if she was an old friend, even though they had not met her before?

Parvanna's family might have embraced Shauzia as if she was an old friend maybe because she is the first girl they have found just like Parvanna and she is Parvanna's age and they are friend well not technically but they know each other.

2. How do you think Parvana felt about running into Shauzia. How would you feel in Parvana's situation? Make a connection to an experience you've had, or another text.

Parvanna felt happy and relief that she was not the only one who had to pretend to be a boy and when she looked carefully at the other's she could tell that they were also girls from her school who had to pretend to be a boy.
If i was in Parvanna's situation i would sad in the beginning because i would have to cut all my hair off to support my family but i also might be happy because at least i have a friend from my old school.
A connection i might have to this problem is that maybe when my aunt went to Yorkdale Mall and like she made me pretend like i was a small kid i was small for my age. I was 8 by then and they made me pretend to be 6 and a half, this is not like Parvanna's part where she has to be a boy on the outside but for me its the age i'm lying about.

3. Why might Parvana feel uncomfortable about digging up bones for money? Would you dig up the bones? Explain your thinking.

Parvanna might feel uncomfortable about digging up bones because there might be land mines and she might step on one with her friend Shauzia, Also she doesn't want to disturb a soul/body.

4. Why did Parvana keep her work digging up bones a secret from her family. Try and come up with a least two
reasons.

Parvanna might have kept her work digging up bones a secret maybe because Mother would deny her and she would want to earn extra money for her self and buy stuff that can help her out for the market.
